EXHAUST PORT

This is a new painting that is getting the accelerated kick because I will be showing an oil study at Outré Gallery in Melbourne for their LOCALS exhibition in February 2027.

I have previously created a couple of versions of this one on Procreate and want to go back to some degree and reverse engineer the painting and work out my composition and design choices using traditional materials.

At this point there was going to be a character in the main foreground, lit up against the mostly shadowed background.

It’s looking a little dark for my liking so I am re-considering the lighting plan.

As you can see, I am still undecided about what the general environment is going to be. Dry desert or snow.

From here I will go back to thumbnails and play with the general design of the background structure and the smaller shapes and then start working on a character. That will involve some reference through my photography database.
