Wayne Haag is an Australian painter and film artist whose work explores fictional archaeology, industrial memory and speculative landscape.

Over a career spanning nearly three decades, he has worked as a digital matte painter and concept artist across feature film and television, including The Fifth Element, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Wolverine, Alien: Covenant, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Foundation, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.

Alongside that work, Haag has developed Ankaris, an independent science-fiction world explored through oil painting, drawing, design and story. His Ankaris work has received two Concept Art Association awards, several Art Renewal Center awards, and has appeared in Spectrum Fantastic Art. Sky Burial 2 was exhibited at the Society of Illustrators in New York as part of the 2014 Spectrum exhibition.

His wider work also includes the exclusive outer-box artwork for TASCHEN's limited edition The Making of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Haag continues to divide his studio practice between Ankaris, landscape painting and selected film and visual-development work.
