The Pursuit of the Whole is Called Love

This is an interior illustration I painted for INTERZONE magazine, issue 247 in June 2013.

Oil on Canson paper. 450mm x 315mm (17.75in x 12.5in)

The title of the painting is the title of the short story by L.S. Johnson in issue 247. The phrase originates from Plato's Symposium, specifically from Aristophanes' speech about humanity being split into halves and constantly searching for completion.
