Sci-fi Freedom Art, Steampunk

SciFI Freedom Magazine #5

Hi All..

A quick post to let you know SciFi Freedom issue #5 is now available! You will find several great short stories and some pretty cool art to boot. Steampunk is the theme this issue so all you folks into brass, boots, bowlers and hot air, check it out! It’s free so there’s no excuse not to have a look and pass it on to your friends.

The painting I posted last time is the illustration for Domenico’s wonderful Astor House story.

Many thanks to Peter Saga for putting together a great looking mag.

In the meantime, back to painting for the next issue!

Steampunk Portrait.

Howdy all..

Something a little different this post as I have painted a portrait of a historically real figure for a steampunk short story set in Shanghai in the late 18th century. It will be the interior illustration for the online sf magazine, SciFi Freedom, issue 5 to be published in September. More details once it’s out!

The final image is 95% oil painting with a little digital tweaking for levels and adding the ‘Wetzler’ details around the lenses of the goggles.

In the meantime, enjoy!
